3 years of inGenious experiences: Teachers visualize the future of STEM education at summer school

The 3rd inGenious summer school in Split, Croatia, is over and was a success. From Friday 22 to Sunday 24 we have had over 180 participants from 28 countries attending workshops, discussing about inGenious and school-industry collaborations and networking in general, mainly in order to improve STEM teaching. Almost 95% of the participants were teachers and the rest were inGenious partners and associate partners (Shell, Nokia, Philips, Zlatna Vrata, EPCA, UPCnet, Platform Beta Technik, Tiger Leap and, of course EUN). Once again, the teachers left extremely enthusiastic and the partners were happier than ever, thanks also to the inclusion in the programme of a special session where teachers had to convince a jury made of industry representatives to join a hypothetical inGenious 2. The teachers surprised even us by preparing short theatrical representations to show the industry partners the importance of committing to education for longer than 3 years if they want to see real changes in schools.

The highlight of the summer school was the announcement of the competitions 1 and 2 finalists that will be invited to the European Ceremony Award which will take place in Warsaw on 22 September 2014, in conjunction with the STEM Educator Academy organised by inGenious.
